{"id":529268,"date":"2026-03-11T14:34:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T14:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/529268\/"},"modified":"2026-03-11T14:34:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T14:34:07","slug":"health-innovation-roundup-march-11-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/529268\/","title":{"rendered":"Health Innovation Roundup &#8211; March 11, 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/albertainnovates.ca\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alberta Innovates<\/a> and Pfizer have <a href=\"https:\/\/albertacancer.ca\/news-release\/global-industry-leaders-join-4-5m-initiative-to-advance-cancer-care-in-alberta\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">joined the Precision Analytics Program<\/a>, a collaboration between the <a href=\"https:\/\/albertacancer.ca\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alberta Cancer Foundation<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.albertahealthservices.ca\/cancer\/cancer.aspx\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cancer Care Alberta<\/a> to improve outcomes for Albertans with cancer by using vast data to reduce wait times and tailor patient care. The new partners join Roche Canada, which has renewed its participation in the $4.5-million program that <a href=\"https:\/\/albertacancer.ca\/news-release\/pa-bio2024\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">began in 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Alberta is a well-suited jurisdiction for this work because it has &#8220;one of the world&#8217;s most comprehensive cancer datasets to better understand the patient journey,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/we-are-proud-to-support-this-important-initiative-share-7435707265564733440-tPWf\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alberta Innovates posted<\/a> after its participation was announced at <a href=\"https:\/\/bioalberta.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BioAlberta<\/a>&#8216;s policy forum on March 5.&#13;<br \/>\nIndeed, the cancer foundation notes that more than 300 million patients have submitted data since 2014. The project partners are leveraging the artificial intelligence and machine learning prowess of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.govlab.ai\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">GovLab.ai<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/altaml.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AltaML<\/a> on a &#8220;digital roadmap&#8221; of the patient experience with cancer.<\/p>\n<p>BioAlberta&#8217;s policy forum <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/the-panels-for-policy-forum-2026-today-discussed-ugcPost-7435485683672133632-qFgR\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">discussed a number of other health innovations<\/a>, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lungcheck.ca\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lung Health Check<\/a>, an initiative funded by the province, the Alberta Cancer Foundation, and AstraZeneca, and coordinated by Praxus Health and <a href=\"https:\/\/acesomedical.ca\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aceso Medical<\/a>.
