\n The organisation said in a statement: “Help & Care has made the difficult yet responsible decision to close its Roots service.”\n<\/p>\n
\n “Individuals currently involved in Roots will receive tailored support and warm handovers into appropriate services.”\n<\/p>\n

\n Roots provides a recovery space and meaningful activity for people experiencing mental ill health, alongside practical skill development and community gardening opportunities.\n<\/p>\n
\n The programme also supports older and vulnerable residents by helping them maintain their gardens safely.\n<\/p>\n
\n Mark Sharman, chief executive of Help & Care, said: “We are incredibly proud of what Roots has achieved since 1989.\n<\/p>\n
\n “However, services must evolve to meet changing needs.\n<\/p>\n
\n “This transition allows us to focus on expanding the reach of our current services and developing partnerships that provide more choice, flexibility and personalised support for the people we serve.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The charity emphasised that the decision was not primarily due to financial pressures, though recent operational challenges accelerated a review of the service\u2019s long-term sustainability.\n<\/p>\n
