Canada Post has issued a red delivery service alert for several Ontario communities as a major winter storm brings freezing rain. The agency says it is suspending delivery for the day and will resume once conditions improve and it is safe for carriers to return<\/p>\n
A major winter storm has prompted\u00a0Canada Post to issue a red delivery service alert for parts of Ontario due to the freezing rain.<\/p>\n
“A red service alert means that we are suspending delivery for the day and not sending our delivery agents out or recalling them. Delivery and pick-up will resume once conditions improve and it\u2019s safe to do so,” says a release.<\/p>\n
The following communities are under a red delivery service alert:<\/p>\n
\n\tNorth Bay and surrounding areas
\n\tSudbury and surrounding areas
\n\tPembroke
\n\tPetawawa
\n\tRenfrew
<\/p>\n
An alert can be issued for a particular community or an entire province, depending on the weather event.<\/p>\n
