IndyCar and NASCAR both hosting events at Phoenix Raceway<\/a> last weekend was a \u201creminder of wonderful times for both series,\u201d where they \u201clooked important and their fans were the big winners<\/a>,\u201d according to Marshall Pruett of RACER. The \u201cpowerful co-headlining ticket\u201d was the \u201cfirst proper mashup of stock cars and open-wheelers on the same bill and on the same circuit.\u201d Pruett: \u201cI want to see more. \u2026 Leaving Phoenix, at an oval that was built for and made famous by IndyCar, it\u2019s hard to imagine anyone who didn\u2019t love seeing the country\u2019s two biggest forms of racing work together for the sport\u2019s greater good.\u201d IndyCar \u201cbenefited from being part of the NASCAR weekend,\u201d and NASCAR \u201ccame out ahead as well.\u201d This was \u201cIndyCar at its best\u201d and the timing was also \u201ckey\u201d for the series, with the return of a pre-Indy 500 oval to the schedule. Pruett: \u201cAs much as I was unexpectedly overwhelmed by the execution of last weekend\u2019s doubleheader, I\u2019m not sure I\u2019d want more than two shared oval events per year between NASCAR and IndyCar.
