Two Calgary grocery stores are set to receive some major upgrades this year.<\/p>\n
Building permits have been issued for Walmart\u2019s East Hills<\/a> and Sage Hill<\/a> locations, according to the Alberta Major Projects website, as the grocery giant\u2019s modernization plans get underway.<\/p>\n Both stores will be getting interior and exterior alterations, for an estimated sum of $5.2 million at East Hills and $5.9 million at Sage Hill. The upgrades are expected to be completed this year.<\/p>\n The store renovations form part of larger plans for Walmart<\/a>, which, in 2024, revealed it would be investing $300 million in Alberta to open new locations and modernize some existing ones.<\/p>\n The brand has big plans for Calgary, with a brand-new Supercentre on the way, just outside of the city in Tsuut\u2019ina Nation.<\/p>\n Construction on the new Walmart Supercentre is expected to kick off in 2026, with the store anticipated to open in 2027. The spot will serve as the primary grocery and general merchandise retailer in Taza Park, offering fresh food and household essentials.<\/p>\n Still hungry?
