Police say two 16-year-old girls suffered serious injuries after being struck by an SUV in north Edmonton on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
At roughly 12 p.m., police said the two teens were crossing an intersection on 122 Avenue and 96 Street when they were struck by a red Toyota 4-Runner.<\/p>\n
Police said the driver of the SUV, a 62-year-old man, remained on scene. The two girls were treated and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Police said the Major Collision Investigations Section has taken over the investigation, and no word if charges will be laid.e<\/p>\n
