Details on his role in The Lowdown are being kept quiet for now. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tJones is the second new addition to the show; Betty Gilpin (Death by Lightning, GLOW) was previously cast, joining returning star Ethan Hawke.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/the-lowdown-creator-sterlin-harjo-season-1-finale-1236418480\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Season one of The Lowdown<\/a> followed citizen journalist and self-proclaimed \u201ctruthstorian\u201d Lee Raybon (Hawke) as he worked to uncover corruption in Tulsa, Oklahoma, focusing on the powerful Washberg family and its patriarch (Kyle MacLachlan), who is running for governor. The season one cast also includes Keith David, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Tim Blake Nelson, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Michael \u201cKiller Mike\u201d Render, Kaniehtiio Horn, Tracy Letts, Peter Dinklage and the late Graham Greene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFX <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/the-lowdown-renewed-season-2-fx-1236466518\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">renewed the series<\/a> in January, and season two is set to begin production in the spring in Tulsa. FX Productions is behind The Lowdown; Harjo executive produces with Garrett Basch, Ethan Hawke, Ryan Hawke, Duffy Boudreau and Scott Teems.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFor Jones, The Lowdown will mark his first TV work since HBO\u2019s 2011 movie based on the Cormac McCarthy play The Sunset Limited. Jones directed the two-character production and starred alongside Samuel L. Jackson. The Fugitive Oscar winner\u2019s recent film credits include Prime Video\u2019s The Burial, director Brian Helgeland\u2019s Finestkind and Ad Astra. His best-known work on the small screen is Lonesome Dove, the 1989 miniseries based on Larry McMurtry\u2019s novel; Jones and co-star Robert Duvall were both nominated for Emmys for their roles.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tJones is repped by CAA, Viewpoint and Jacobson Russell.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Season two of The Lowdown is adding an Oscar winner to its cast.
