As fiber breaks down, it feeds the beneficial bacteria in the gut, leading to the production of short-chain fatty acids that can help to reduce inflammation and improve metabolic health and blood-glucose regulation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-7ac5f8\" class=\"body-graf\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/health\/diet-fitness\/increase-fiber-intake-without-bloating-rcna257571\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Increasing your fiber intake<\/a> will contribute to a lower risk of obesity, colon cancer, Type 2 diabetes, heart disease and digestive disorders. It also helps prevent constipation and supports your microbiome, which is essential to immune and nervous system health, TODAY.com previously reported.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-79f4af\" class=\"body-graf\">Boost your chances of meeting your fiber goals by eating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/health\/diet-fitness\/13-foods-eat-instead-taking-fiber-supplement-rcna236340\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fiber-rich foods<\/a> throughout the day, starting with breakfast so that you\u2019re not scrambling at dinner. <\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-78db4b\" class=\"body-graf\">\u201cWhen you build meals around whole plant foods, like beans, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, fiber intake naturally goes up, and those foods also bring along vitamins, minerals and antioxidants,\u201d says Natalie Rizzo, registered dietitian and TODAY.com nutrition editor. <\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-8d20e7\" class=\"body-graf\">Eating fiber first thing in the morning will get your blood sugar in check and keep you feeling full and maintain steady energy levels throughout the day, says Palinski-Wade. It\u2019ll also reduce cravings and hunger, allowing you to manage your overall calorie intake for the day and reduce needless snacking.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-a6969a\" class=\"body-graf\">To set you up for all-day success, the dietitians rounded up high-fiber breakfast recipes that you can add to your daily rotation. <\/p>\n<p>High-Fiber Breakfasts With Fruit<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-bc5853\" class=\"body-graf\">\u201cFruit, especially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/health\/diet-fitness\/apples-vs-pears-rcna217538\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pears, apples<\/a> and berries, are loaded with fiber and make a great addition to morning breakfast bowls, smoothies and toast,\u201d says Rizzo.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-71dc81\" class=\"body-graf\">A medium pear delivers 6 grams of fiber, while an apple has 4 grams. If berries are more your speed, any will do, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/health\/diet-fitness\/fruit-highest-in-fiber-dietitian-tip-rcna262099\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">raspberries<\/a> have the most fiber per serving, especially insoluble fiber, the kind that keeps food moving through the digestive system. There 8 grams of fiber in a cup of raspberries.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-5953fd\" class=\"body-graf\">\u201cThe easiest thing to do is go buy a ton of raspberries, put them in your fridge and have half a cup with breakfast and have half a cup as an afternoon snack,\u201d Caroline Susie, registered dietitian and spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/health\/diet-fitness\/raspberry-benefits-rcna156312\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">previously told TODAY.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Red Smoothie BowlDylan&#8217;s Strawberry Overnight OatsHigh-Fiber Breakfasts With Avocado<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-082c90\" class=\"body-graf\">Avocado is technically a fruit, but it\u2019s such a fiber powerhouse that it deserves its own section. <\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-a6c401\" class=\"body-graf\">\u201cAvocados (are) a good source of fiber with 79% of the carbohydrates found in avocado coming from fiber,\u201d says Palinski-Wade. One serving, about one-third of a whole avocado, contains <a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/health\/diet-fitness\/how-many-calories-in-avocado-rcna45348\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">3 grams of fiber<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-91ec94\" class=\"body-graf\">Avocado also contains healthy fats, she adds.
