The electronically laced indie rockers wowed us with early singles &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/stereogum.com\/2479948\/robber-robber-talkback\/music\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Talkback<\/a>,&#8221; &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/stereogum.com\/2485029\/robber-robber-announce-new-album-two-wheels-move-the-soul-hear-the-sound-it-made\/music\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Sound It Made<\/a>,&#8221; and &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/stereogum.com\/2488762\/robber-robber-watch-for-infection\/music\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Watch For Infection<\/a>.&#8221; They have another advance track out today, and it certainly isn&#8217;t diminishing our excitement. &#8220;Pieces&#8221; moves a little slower than some other Robber Robber songs; the combination of Carney Hemler&#8217;s lurching bass and Nina Cates&#8217; eerie siren song is extremely pleasing.<\/p>\n<p>Cates chimes in:<\/p>\n<p>This song is about trying to get the whole thing, but only managing to get pieces of it. Or thinking you have the whole thing, and seeing it get picked apart slowly or shattered in an instant. It\u2019s about building your dream out of rusty scrapyard bits and navigating difficult terrain with no map. Every day mental gymnastics, echolocation, wading slowly through murky water.<\/p>\n<p>Connor Turque directed the &#8220;Pieces&#8221; video, which features Robber Robber onstage at Einstein&#8217;s, a Burlington bar frequented by a Grateful Dead cover band.
