Mickey Rourke claims he was forced to withhold nearly $60,000 in rent on his former Los Angeles rental home because the \u201cliving conditions\u201d became \u201cunacceptable.\u201d <\/p>\n
Rourke told Page Six in a statement Wednesday that there were \u201cserious problems that repeatedly went unaddressed\u201d despite his \u201cefforts to have them fixed.\u201d <\/p>\n
He claimed there were \u201congoing rodent issues\u201d at the property that required multiple visits but were never fully resolved.<\/p>\n
The \u201cSin City\u201d star also alleged that the \u201cbathroom and plumbing frequently did not work\u201d and claimed that despite his repeated requests for repairs, \u201cthe problems continued and basic maintenance was never properly handled.\u201d <\/p>\n

Rourke, 73, concluded the statement by stating that \u201cWithholding rent was not a decision [he] made lightly.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cI simply could not continue paying for a house that was in such poor condition after so many attempts to have these issues corrected.\u201d<\/p>\n
Eric T. Goldie, the landlord of the Spanish style bungalow in Los Angeles, did not immediately return Page Six\u2019s request for comment on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
