The Women\u2019s Premier Soccer League, which fields more than 180 amateur clubs across two divisions, has named EasyCoach as its exclusive sports management company for the 2026 season, which begins March 13. <\/p>\n

EasyCoach<\/a> combines tools for coaches, scouts, analysts, administrators and marketers into a single software tool, seeking to improve efficiency and consistency across team operations. The tech platform, which is typically available on a subscription basis priced per player, is being made available to all WPSL clubs<\/a>, who can choose whether to opt in. This is its first major foray into the US market.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur marketing crew does a great job trying to promote teams and certain players, but really we also have to rely on some of it coming from coaches,\u201d WPSL Commissioner Kendra Halterman said.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of our clubs have very small front office staffs, and coaches play multiple roles,\u201d added Shaylee Manwell, WPSL marketing and special events coordinator. \u201cEasyCoach really helps with the management of that and helps them take a little bit off of their plate.\u201d<\/p>\n

EasyCoach has primarily worked overseas, including with the national federations in Croatia, Israel and Kazakhstan. Among the individual clubs EasyCoach supports are La Liga\u2019s Villarreal CF and the 2024 NCAA men\u2019s national champion University of Vermont. The startup proved out its tech working with the Israeli national team.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe main idea was to help the staff standardize how they plan all their methodology, all their player development, all the team development,\u201d CEO Gabby Barzilay said, \u201cand make one platform that unifies and centralizes all the data, all the information.\u201d <\/p>\n

The WPSL is the longest running women\u2019s soccer league, now entering its 28th season. A professional tier is being added for 2027.<\/p>\n

Roku has \u201clanded the digital rights\u201d to the X Games League, which will be streamed exclusively on Roku Sports Channel, according to Tony Maglio of the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Financial terms of the multiyear deal were not disclosed. Roku is already the streaming home to the proper X Games, which still take place twice a year. ESPN holds the linear rights to the X Games and X Games League. That means this is \u201can extension of Roku\u2019s existing deal.\u201d The inaugural MoonPay\u202fX Games League Draft will\u202falso stream\u202ffor free\u202fon Roku Sports Channel, live from\u202fCosm\u202fin L.A. The Big 12\u2019s implementation of the ASB GlassFloor LED court for its men\u2019s and women\u2019s basketball tournament<\/a> \u201cis drawing mixed reviews, at least from the men.\u201d BYU C Keba Keita \u201ctripped — or slipped, or something\u201d — in the first half of the team\u2019s win over Kansas State Tuesday night. He \u201cwent down, left the game for a while, then came back but — in his estimation — was \u2018playing with cautiousness\u2019 after that.\u201d Other players were \u201ccomplimentary of the court\u2019s visual effects,\u201d which showed team logos on center court during pregame introductions and had other light-up effects. But there \u201calso was an air of doubt.\u201d Keita noted the court \u201cpersonally was making me feel dizzy a little bit.\u201d Beyond dizziness, the \u201cprimary concern voiced by players was the slippery nature\u201d of the court (SI, 3\/10<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Kansas State F Khamari McGriff spent the final moments of the loss to BYU \u201con the end of the bench as he covered his eyes with a white towel\u201d due to a migraine that he says was from the court. Despite the painful headache, McGriff said he \u201cthought the glass floor was a fun feature at the Big 12 Tournament.\u201d But his teammate, F Taj Manning, did not \u201chold back\u201d his thoughts on the court, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s slippery. The lights and stuff caused Khamari to get a migraine. It\u2019s a bad court. They shouldn\u2019t bring it back. It\u2019s just an eyesore. It\u2019s constantly changing and stuff and flashing different lights. Nobody wants to play on that floor\u201d (K.C. STAR, 3\/10<\/a>).<\/p>\n

There were many graphics done on the court that were not done for our tournament . The big 12 should do better for our Women\u2019s basketball players!! I didn\u2019t see all the games if I\u2019m wrong let me know!\u201d247Sports\u2019 Alec Busse<\/a>: \u201cPerhaps you can or can\u2019t see the Big 12\u2019s glass floor give in this video. But to the eye in person you can see it give on some jumps and landings. To me, it also feels unique. To the touch you can feel a texture of the court.\u201dKHAS-FM\u2019s Brandon Shanahan<\/a>: \u201cThe big 12 is so funny. Everybody hated the court design from last year > big 12 installs one of a kind court that can produce any court design known to man > replicates same design from last year nobody liked > bullied so bad they change the design for day two.
