LETTER: Is Surrey embracing religion in schools?<\/p>\n

I was delighted to see that our secular, inclusive Surrey school board is now allowing religious celebrations across the district at local high schools. The news that Johnson Heights students get to \u201cembrace\u201d the Muslim <\/a>Ramadan<\/a> surely means that next year the Christian kids can observe Lent, joined by their Muslim schoolmates. And the Jewish kids can now observe Hanukkah.<\/p>\n Who knows, maybe we\u2019ll even see \u201cChristmas Concerts\u201d return to displace the \u201cWinter Festival\u201d events so ubiquitous these days.
