Dundon has reportedly struck a deal to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/03\/05\/dundon-sells-125-of-hurricanes-at-266b-valuation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/03\/05\/dundon-sells-125-of-hurricanes-at-266b-valuation\/\">sell a minority stake in the Canes<\/a>\u202fas he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2025\/09\/12\/allen-estate-formally-agrees-to-sell-trail-blazers-to-tom-dundons-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2025\/09\/12\/allen-estate-formally-agrees-to-sell-trail-blazers-to-tom-dundons-group\/\">pursues ownership of the Trail Blazers<\/a>. Those negotiations have \u201cfueled questions about how invested\u201d Dundon is in bringing MLB to Raleigh. However, one of the local spearheads of that effort, Lou Pascucci, said that \u201cnothing has changed.\u201d Pascucci said that he had a \u201cconversation with Dundon and his team after the Trail Blazers deal went public\u202fin August.\u201d Pascucci regarding MLB in Raleigh said, \u201cImmediately they said keep going. This means nothing for baseball. As far as we know \u2026 everyone is still working, talking, pushing toward this.\u201d Pascucci added that there are \u201cunlikely to be any announcements about MLB expansion while the league and players negotiate their collective bargaining agreement.\u201d Pascucci: \u201cWe\u2019re kind of in a holding pattern.
