Via iStockphoto \/ @oliverthewolfguy TikTok<\/a><\/p>\n A wolf and wildlife conservationist has folks on social media concerned about his safety.<\/p>\n Oliver the Wolf Guy (@oliverthewolfguy) posted a viral TikTok that shows three wolves at the screen door of his home, who all seemed eager to interact with the outdoorsman. While the prospect of befriending such majestic and powerful creatures seemed like an exciting prospect for many, others wondered about the potential perils of doing so.<\/p>\n \u201cLook at this! I got three wolves at the door,\u201d he says, recording three of the large wild canines outside the screen door of his home. Next, Oliver remarks about how one of the wolves<\/a>, Nuni, looks bigger than before. \u201cWhen they\u2019re side by side, Nuni\u2019s actually bigger,\u201d he says to a family member. After calling out Nuni\u2019s name, the wolf begins jumping up and scratching at the door but then stops after he asks him to get back on the ground.<\/p>\n Following this, he asks another one of the wolves to stand up straight before asking Nuni to stand up straight once again. Nuni then begins licking the glass door before Oliver approaches it. When he does, the wolves start to become visibly excited as Oliver narrates, \u201cYes, there are three wolves at our door.\u201d<\/p>\n Once all three of the animals are in the frame of the camera, he assesses which of the three is tallest. Stating that the white wolf standing in the back has a taller stance than the other two. Nuni continues to lick the glass, eliciting a humored response from Oliver, who calls the wolf \u201cweird\u201d and \u201cnot normal\u201d due to the wolf\u2019s excitable behavior.<\/p>\n Commenters Sound Off<\/p>\n Several viewers were shocked that Oliver was so nonchalant around the wolves. \u201cNah they either want friendship or blood,\u201d one penned.<\/p>\n Another replied that while they understood the temptation to want to play with the wolves, that they ultimately understood why letting them inside their home was probably a really bad idea. \u201cAs someone who owns a husky I said, \u2018why isn\u2019t he letting them in?\u2019 Maybe cause they\u2019re real life wolves,\u201d they stated.<\/p>\n Another TikToker said, \u201cThat glass is sounding a bit too thin for me to be standing right there teasing their food in front of them.\u201d<\/p>\n Another asked, \u201cIs this real life footage of wolves becoming domesticated? Is this how our ancestors did it?\u201d<\/p>\n But there were others who spotted details that cued them into the fact that Oliver was indeed running a wolf sanctuary. \u201cOne of those \u2018wolves\u2019 got a collar on,\u201d they pointed out.<\/p>\n Oliver\u2019s A Wolf And Wildlife Enthusiast<\/p>\n Oliver replied to the commenter that the wolves featured in the clip are three of a party of five separate wolf ambassadors; they are, indeed, part of his nonprofit organization.<\/p>\n In his TikTok bio, Oliver included a link to his website delineating his efforts to, as he writes, \u201cadvocate for the natural world.\u201d He highlights how he is the executive director of the Tahoe Wolf Center located in Lake Tahoe, California.<\/p>\n Several of his other videos<\/a> feature him interacting with the animals and how he works to help manage conflict between them. For example, two of the ambassador wolves, Aqutaq and Nepenthe, started beefing with each other despite initially getting along. He says that unlike dogs, wolves cannot be calmed down with the promise of treats when their tensions are high.<\/p>\n In another video<\/a>, Oliver shows off a wolf pup attempting to get out of a pen situated inside of a home. The animal attempts to climb the plastic enclosure as whimsical music plays in the background. Finally, it\u2019s able to get out of the pen, only to get picked up by Oliver and placed right back inside. Additionally, the TikToker showed off other animals he works with, like this fox he took footage of in December of 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n Is It Safe To Domesticate Wolves?<\/p>\n While the videos shown off by Oliver display the wolves in a friendly, and in the case of Nuni, even goofy light, acclimating them to live with human beings can be a dangerous prospect. The National Library of Medicine published a study<\/a> analyzing what it calls \u201cthe human-initiated model of wolf domestication.\u201d While it acknowledges that \u201csocialized adult wolves \u2026 were able to co-exist peacefully with humans\u201d throughout history, that this isn\u2019t always the case. Take what happened to the \u201cGrizzy Man,\u201d Timothy Treadwell<\/a>, for instance. Despite living among bears for 13 back-to-back summers, him and his girlfriend were mauled and eaten by the animals.<\/p>\n Just because a wild wolf is domesticated, it doesn\u2019t mean that they won\u2019t try and test the relationships with the humans around them and that interactions can suddenly turn violent.<\/p>\n BroBible has reached out to Oliver the Wolf Guy via email for further comment.<\/p>\n \t\t\t
