Two days after getting ejected<\/a> in the second quarter of Tuesday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics<\/a> star Jaylen Brown finally opened up about it.<\/p>\n

Brown posted on X<\/a> just minutes after getting thrown out of the game, writing, “This the\u00a0(expletive) I be talking about.”<\/p>\n

However, he addressed the ejection in greater detail<\/a> following Thursday’s\u00a0104-102 road loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.<\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t think I deserved to get tossed, and I think the NBA agreed because I didn\u2019t get fined or anything like that,” Brown told reporters after Thursday’s game. “It is what it is. It happens. People make mistakes, but I’m just looking forward now.”<\/p>\n

It is surprising that Brown wasn’t fined given how he reacted in the moment and his public criticism of the referees, but most agree his ejection was unwarranted<\/a>, especially since it came from a referee who he wasn’t even arguing with.<\/p>\n

Brown expressed his disappointment that he didn’t get to finish the game against the Spurs, which he’d been looking forward to.<\/p>\n

“Obviously I was pissed that I didn’t get to compete in that game. That was another big-time matchup that I had circled on my calendar. Obviously playing against the Spurs, who are a good team,” Brown said.<\/p>\n

Brown was also mad that he didn’t get to finish the game after getting off to such a good start. He already had eight points and seven assists when he was thrown out with just under four minutes remaining in the first half and appeared on his way to a monster night.<\/p>\n

“I came out to a great start. I felt great. I felt like I was ready to have a big-time performance,” Brown said. “When I got a little short at certain spots, maybe I could have been a little bit better. But you’re passionate, it’s a big game. You want to see emotion, you want to see your star players showing that emotion.”<\/p>\n

Brown’s emotions got the best of him<\/a> on Tuesday, but he bounced back with one of his best games of the season on Thursday night. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough, however, as the Celtics lost in the final seconds despite his 35 points and MVP-caliber performance.<\/p>\n
