Just days before NASCAR<\/a> returns to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Ty Gibbs experienced a frightening moment during a sprint car race at the same facility.<\/p>\n The Joe Gibbs Racing driver<\/a> was involved in a crash Thursday night during a High Limit Racing heat race at the dirt track located outside the main 1.5-mile NASCAR oval.<\/p>\n Gibbs\u2019 sprint car flipped into the catch fence during a heat<\/a> race incident before coming to rest upside down. Safety crews quickly reached the car, and Gibbs climbed out under his own power.<\/p>\n The incident occurred just days before the NASCAR Cup Series race weekend at Las Vegas<\/a>, where Gibbs is scheduled to drive the No. 54 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing.<\/p>\n Ty Gibbs Walks Away After Heat Race Crash<\/p>\n The crash happened during one of the High Limit Racing heat races Thursday night.<\/p>\n Gibbs made contact with another car while battling for position entering Turn 2. His sprint car climbed the outside wall and flipped into the catch fence before landing upside down.<\/p>\n Despite the violent impact, Gibbs appeared unharmed and was able to exit the car without assistance.<\/p>\n Speaking afterward, Gibbs indicated the crash began after contact with another car in the slick racing surface.<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, I\u2019m fine,\u201d Gibbs said. \u201cI think Corey just got super loose there in the slick. We\u2019re good \u2014 just unfortunate.
