But he\u2019d never seen anything quite like this before.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">A few months back, a customer from a nearby town arrived at Santella\u2019s shop after experiencing some engine trouble. That, however, wasn\u2019t what jumped out to the mechanic first. Looking at the car\u2019s front left headlight, Santella and his colleague realized something was off.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"2\">\u201cWe noticed something moving inside the headlight assembly, so we went to take a closer look,\u201d Santella told The Dodo. \u201cI was truly astonished.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"3\">Inside the headlight was a little kitten. Without hesitation, Santella began dismantling the assembly to free her.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"4\">\u201cThe car\u2019s owner had no idea [she was there],\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">The kitten, likely a stray from the neighboring town, had apparently crawled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedodo.com\/daily-dodo\/routine-oil-change-takes-adorable-turn-when-mechanic-spots-someone-fluffy-in-engine\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">under the car<\/a> for shelter \u2014 and somehow squeezed into an opening in the headlight assembly. She then survived the long journey to Santella\u2019s shop.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">But now, thanks to the mechanics, she was safe.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"2\">\u201cShe was in good shape. Perfect condition, actually,\u201d Santella said.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"3\">The mechanics cared for the kitten for several days.
