{"id":535853,"date":"2026-03-14T12:18:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-14T12:18:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/535853\/"},"modified":"2026-03-14T12:18:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-14T12:18:08","slug":"liv-golf-singapore-westwood-on-track-for-best-win-of-my-career-after-taking-joint-lead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/535853\/","title":{"rendered":"LIV Golf Singapore: Westwood on track for \u2018best win of my career\u2019 after taking joint lead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Six years after his last win and having just returned from a wrist injury, Lee Westwood is in position to finish off arguably his most impressive performance after taking the joint lead on day three at the Aramco LIV Golf Singapore on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Westwood, the Majesticks GC co-captain with 44 professional wins across 20 different countries in his storied career, enters Sunday\u2019s final round as co-leader at 10 under with Torque GC captain Joaquin Niemann, who is also the defending champion.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The Englishman will play in the final group of the final round for the first time in his LIV Golf career and seeks to become the oldest player to win a league individual title.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cI\u2019m 53 on the 24th of April, so at that stage, it would probably be the best win of my career,\u201d Westwood said after making birdies on three of his final four holes for a three-under 68 in difficult conditions at Sentosa Golf Club.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cAll of my wins have special memories.
