It\u2019s about time he got one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Keegan Matheson (@KeeganMatheson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KeeganMatheson\/status\/2032845076301332742?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">March 14, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The 35-year-old was solid once again for Toronto last season, going 10-11 with a 3.59 ERA and 189 strikeouts in 193.0 innings spread out over 32 starts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">This is the fifth and final season of Gausman\u2019s five-year, $110 million deal he signed ahead of the 2022 season. He is due $23 million this season and is scheduled to become a free agent after the 2026 campaign. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He\u2019s been as advertised in his first four seasons with Toronto, combining for a 3.48 ERA in 125 regular-season games started. He also made six appearances in last year\u2019s postseason run, posting a 2.93 ERA in 30.2 innings. He took the ball twice in the World Series, turning in two quality starts against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/los-angeles-dodgers\/243\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/los-angeles-dodgers\/243\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> in Games 2 and 6 in Toronto. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Centennial, Co., native is a veteran of 13 MLB seasons, also spending time with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/baltimore-orioles\/225\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/baltimore-orioles\/225\" target=\"_blank\">Baltimore Orioles<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/san-francisco-giants\/250\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/san-francisco-giants\/250\" target=\"_blank\">San Francisco Giants<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/atlanta-braves\/239\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/atlanta-braves\/239\" target=\"_blank\">Atlanta Braves<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/cincinnati-reds\/241\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/cincinnati-reds\/241\" target=\"_blank\">Cincinnati Reds<\/a> in addition to the Jays.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Kevin Gausman is the Toronto Blue Jays\u2019 Opening Day starter.
