Montrealers woke up to a snowy start Saturday as a late-winter system moved across the region, bringing fresh accumulation and strengthening winds.<\/p>\n
Environment and Climate Change Canada forecasts about five centimetres of snow through the day. Winds from the southwest at 20 km\/h gusting to 40 will shift to the west this afternoon and strengthen to 40 km\/h with gusts up to 60.<\/p>\n
The daytime high will reach plus 2 Celsius, with a low UV index.<\/p>\n
Periods of snow are expected to end this evening before skies gradually clear. Winds from the west at 30 km\/h gusting to 50 will ease later tonight. The temperature will drop to minus-8 C, with wind chill making it feel like minus-8 this evening and minus-14 overnight.<\/p>\n
Cloud cover will increase again Sunday before snow begins in the afternoon. About two centimetres of accumulation is expected locally.<\/p>\n
Winds will become easterly at 20 km\/h with gusts to 40 late in the afternoon. The daytime high will be minus-1 C, though wind chill will make it feel closer to minus-10. The UV index will be 3, or moderate.<\/p>\n
