Standing at 6-foot-9, Curtis Douglas is tied for being among the tallest players in NHL history. Only two other players have checked in at the same height: retired defenceman Zdeno Chara and current New York Rangers winger Matt Rempe.<\/p>\n
There have been 35 players in NHL history who have checked in at 6-foot-7 or taller. Ironically, six of them have played for the Canucks.<\/p>\n
With some players being really tall but a little slight (hello, Marcus Pettersson), here\u2019s a look at the largest humans, with height and weight combined, to ever play for the Canucks.<\/p>\n

1. Nikita Tryamkin<\/p>\n
Height: 200 cm (6-foot-7)
\nWeight: 265 pounds
\nCombined total: 465<\/p>\n
He didn\u2019t quite turn out to be Chara 2.0.<\/a><\/p>\n However, hulking defenceman Nikita Tryamkin can say he\u2019s made Canucks history as the largest human to ever suit up for the team.<\/p>\n 2. Nikita Zadorov<\/p>\n Height: 200 cm (6-foot-7) While he wasn\u2019t quite as mysterious as Tryamkin, Nikita Zadorov immediately became one of the most likeable figures on the Canucks back in 2023-24.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Canucks haven\u2019t just missed his size, as the team hasn\u2019t been the same since he left in the summer of 2024.<\/p>\n 3. Chris McAllister<\/p>\n Height: 200 cm (6-foot-7) A relic of the darkest period in Canucks history before now<\/a>, hulking 6-foot-7 defenceman Chris McAllister spent two seasons with the Canucks during the Mike Keenan era.<\/p>\n The massive defenceman from Saskatoon had just four career goals, but he managed to stick around for 301 NHL games.<\/p>\n 4. Curtis Douglas<\/p>\n Height: 205 cm (6-foot-9) Douglas might be the tallest player in Canucks history, but when you factor in weight, he\u2019s not the largest human.<\/p>\n The Oakville, Ontario native is still searching for his first NHL goal.<\/p>\n 5. Martin Grenier<\/p>\n Height: 195 cm (6-foot-5) Martin Grenier might best be remembered for the trades he was involved in. The 6-foot-5 defenceman was involved in the Ray Bourque trade in 2000, which saw him go on to win a Stanley Cup with Colorado.<\/p>\n Grenier scored his only NHL goal with the Canucks, adding one scrap as well.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n 6. Marek Malik<\/p>\n Height: 198 cm (6-foot-6) Everyone loves a big man with some moves.<\/a><\/p>\n But before Malik ended the longest shootout in NHL history, he had two seasons with the Canucks, one in which he had an NHL-best +35 in 2003-04.<\/p>\n 7. Fedor Fedorov<\/p>\n Height: 193 cm (6-foot-4) Fedor Fedorov is certainly a little heavier than his 200-pound brother, Sergei Fedorov.<\/p>\n And while his weight might come as a surprise, he did clock in at 251 pounds during the end of his playing career in the KHL.<\/p>\n Unfortunately for Fedorov, his size didn\u2019t help him against Kevin Bieksa.<\/a><\/p>\n 8.\u00a0Tyler Myers<\/p>\n Height: 203 cm (6-foot-8) For years, Myers was the tallest player in Canucks history.<\/p>\n While he can\u2019t claim that anymore, Myers is now the first Texas-born NHLer to ever play for the Dallas Stars.<\/a><\/p>\n 9. Jassen Cullimore<\/p>\n Height: 195 cm (6-foot-5) While Jassen Cullimore was one of the largest humans in Canucks history, he was traded for someone slightly smaller, but much more menacing.<\/p>\n Cullimore was traded from the Canucks to the Montreal Canadiens in 1996, in exchange for Donald Brashear.<\/p>\n 10. Anders Nilsson<\/p>\n Height: 198 cm (6-foot-6) It takes a pretty big dude to make former Canucks goaltender Jacob Markstrom look small.<\/p>\n
