According to a recent Facebook post, conservation officers are on the lookout after a poaching incident earlier this week.<\/p>\n
The Sasktip Facebook page says that on March 10, officers responded to a report from the previous night. In the report, witnesses say they observed a truck chasing and deliberately running over deer in a field on the outskirts of Maryfield.\u00a0<\/p>\n
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the remains of two white-tailed deer, alongside the scavenged remains of a third deer. Upon inspection, evidence showed that two vehicles were involved, one of which actively pursued the animals while the other watched. Both fled once witnesses approached.<\/p>\n
Conservation officers are now asking for public help in identifying the individuals responsible for the wildlife offence. They are offering a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the individuals involved.<\/p>\n
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Turn-In-Poachers and Polluters (TIPP) line at 1-800-667-7561.
