{"id":539666,"date":"2026-03-16T07:38:30","date_gmt":"2026-03-16T07:38:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/539666\/"},"modified":"2026-03-16T07:38:30","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T07:38:30","slug":"man-holding-large-knife-wanted-in-richmond-robbery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/539666\/","title":{"rendered":"Man holding &#8216;large knife&#8217; wanted in Richmond robbery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ottawa police are investigating a bank robbery after a suspect used a weapon to intimidate staff before running off with money.<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened March 5 at around 1:50 p.m. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ottawapolice.ca\/en\/news\/suspect-to-identify-in-richmond-bank-robbery.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">person entered a bank at the intersection of Perth Street and Shea Road<\/a> in Richmond. A TD Bank is in the area and fits the description.  According to staff, a man entered the institution with a large knife and demanded money. Staff complied, and he left the area.<\/p>\n<p>Police believe he was driving a white Volkswagen Golf GTI, believed to be a 2022 model or newer. There was no front licence plate on it.<\/p>\n<p>The man is described as white with a thin build.
