Radio 1 star Greg James is on an epic cycle ride for Comic Relief \u2013 and he\u2019ll be in North Yorkshire this week.<\/p>\n

Greg began what he described as his \u201cludicrous challenge\u201d \u2013 cycling 1,000km (630 miles) across the UK on a tandem \u2013 on Friday.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s due in York and North Yorkshire tomorrow (Tuesday, 17 March).<\/p>\n

He is spending at least eight hours a day riding the tandem, largely on his own.<\/p>\n

But he\u2019s being joined on the way by other presenters, as well as some special guests.<\/p>\n

Day five of the challenge \u2013 tomorrow \u2013 runs from Worksop to York.<\/p>\n

The route brings him through Great Heck, Burn, Brayton, Selby, Bubwith, Ellerton, Melbourne, Elvington and arriving at Heslington, York. at the end of the leg.<\/p>\n

He was last in York at the university unveiling the statue to the legendary tall duck Long Boi.<\/p>\n

Then on Wednesday, he cycles through York, via the inner ring road and Wigginton Road then heading north on the B1363 via Sutton-on-the-Forest and Stillington, up to Helmsley and through the North York Moors National Park.<\/p>\n

He ends day six in Sunderland, and the entire journey in Edinburgh on Friday.<\/p>\n

Greg said: \u201cA little bit of pain is worth the overall goal of raising loads of money for Comic Relief.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is his third challenge for Comic Relief, after previously proclaiming he would never do one again.<\/p>\n

In 2016, he completed five triathlons in five days, and in 2018, he carried out Pedal To The Peaks, in which he cycled between and climbed Scafell Pike, Snowdon, and Ben Nevis.<\/p>\n
