It was hard to miss the ATP No. 1 Club presence during Sunday\u2019s final at the BNP Paribas Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n \nNot only did the championship match feature former World No. 1s Jannik Sinner<\/a> and Daniil Medvedev<\/a>, but fellow ATP No. 1 Club member Andre Agassi<\/a> presented the trophy to the Italian.<\/p>\n \nAgassi, who won the Indian Wells crown in 2001 on his way to completing the \u2018Sunshine Double\u2019, watched the final courtside before taking part in the trophy ceremony.<\/p>\n \nAgassi\u2019s former rival Jim Courier<\/a>, another ATP No. 1 Club member, was commentating the Sinner-Medvedev showdown for Tennis Channel. Courier lifted the Indian Wells trophy in 1991 to become the first player to claim the \u2018Sunshine Double\u2019. The American returned to the Indian Wells winner\u2019s circle in 1993. <\/p>\n \nSinner, the No. 2 player in the PIF ATP Rankings, rose to World No. 1 for the first time in June 2024. He became the first Italian to achieve that feat. The 24-year-old enjoyed a 65-week debut stint as World No. 1 and spent an additional week at the top spot following his Rolex Paris Masters<\/a> title last November.<\/p>\n![\"\u201cATP\"\/](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/atp-no-1-club-banner-article.jpg\")
