Imagine hearing that Rihanna<\/a> and A$AP Rocky<\/a> named their baby after you. If you\u2019re Wu-Tang Clan<\/a>\u2018s RZA, you don\u2019t have to.<\/p>\n

RZA<\/a> has shared with Capital Xtra radio<\/a> host DJ Semtex his feelings on Rihanna and Rocky\u2019s choice of name for their first child, who was born in 2022. (The couple is also parents to son Riot Rose and daughter Rocki.)<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great honor, right,\u201d RZA said during his Friday (March 13) chat with the DJ before praising Rihanna and Rocky\u2019s contributions to music, fashion and culture. \u201cTo know that there\u2019s some inspiration from the Wu that entered their hearts and have them name their child after the Abbot, that\u2019s a blessing, bro.\u201d<\/p>\n

The hip-hop legend went on to share well wishes for his young namesake and his future.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always say that the RZA is not just a name, it\u2019s also a title,\u201d RZA continued. \u201cI\u2019m rooting for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

The naming honor is not the only one RZA has received recently. In February, Wu-Tang Clan was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame<\/a> for the first time \u2014 nearly a decade after reaching eligibility. RZA has previously advocated for Wu-Tang to be inducted into the Rock Hall.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we should [get in], and I do care. It may take some time to get in there,\u201d he told Rolling Stone<\/a> in a 2019 interview. \u201cI think it\u2019s good for us and I think it\u2019s good for rock n\u2019 roll, because hip-hop is a form of music that grabs from every genre, but definitely grabs from rock n\u2019 roll.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though it indeed took some time, this year could finally be the one for Wu-Tang and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. If the group is inducted this year, it would join only 15 other rap acts<\/a> with the honor.<\/p>\n
