Mississauga city officials welcomed the company’s return and congratulated Shen Yun on its 20th anniversary.

Mississauga Deputy Mayor and City Councillor John Kovac said, “ So each time I’ve seen a version of Shen Yun, I can tell there are differences, and that’s what makes it so you want to come out each and every year. But just the beauty of the dance, the music, the crowds are always full. That is so impressive. The last pieces, in particular, leave you in a kind of a trance. And there’s definitely a spiritual aspect to that.”

Mississauga City Councillor Stephen Dasko said, “I can see this a thousand times, and it’ll still absolutely blow me away. It is absolutely incredible.”

Through classical Chinese dance and music, Shen Yun seeks to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture. Local officials said the performance offers audiences a fresh cultural experience each year.

Mr. Kovac said, “To be able to reinvigorate it in this way and tell the story of how it might have looked in China all those years ago. It should go one step further and say it’s vitally important in order to preserve our culture—that we recognize what has come before to never forget it.”

Mississauga City Councillor Brad Butt said, “Every year, the performances are different. You’re bringing new stuff, you’re helping us learn and experience different aspects of the 5,000 year history of Chinese culture. It is always a great experience each and every year.”

Mississauga Deputy Mayor John Kovac praised Shen Yun in a congratulatory letter, for their dedication to the arts and shared universal values.

Mr. Kovac said, “Especially in this age where technology has really taken over, that there’s only so much time in the day. But it’s really better served being with loved ones, praying, meditating, being in peace, and you could find great happiness through the more modest, simple pleasures in life versus what might appear to be, outwardly anyway.

“Thank you for being so bold, especially in the face of international pressures that unfortunately keep seemingly coming back each and every year. But it shows that together, as a collective in a group, you can conquer much. When you’re all by yourself, you don’t have as much ability. So keep doing what you’re doing, and we’re behind you on behalf of Mississauga council.”

Shen Yun will perform at the Centre In The Square in Kitchener, Canada, on March 24–25, followed by performances in Toronto and Vancouver.

NTD News, Mississauga, Canada

NTD is a media sponsor of Shen Yun Performing Arts, covering audience reactions since 2006.

Shen Yun Performing Arts raised the curtain at the Mississauga Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Canada, on March…

[194297
49,48,55405
0":"post-543952","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mississauga","8":"tag-ca","9":"tag-canada","10":"tag-mississauga
["GET
