The next Spider-Man movie,\u00a0Brand New Day, is heralding a fresh new start<\/a> for the MCU\u2019s take on Peter Parker. But a new day, a new costume<\/a>, and new frenemies don\u2019t stop Pete\u2019s wild life from feeling any less familiar to chaos<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sony and Marvel have just released our first official trailer for\u00a0Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a>, which sees Peter still grappling with the push-and-pull of his personal life and his career as the spectacular Spider-Man. It\u2019s a push and pull made all the more complicated by the ramifications of his choices in\u00a0Spider-Man: No Way Home, which erased the world\u2019s memory of his secret identity\u2026 including his friendships and his romance with the love of his life, MJ.<\/p>\n

As well as our first looks at Peter\u2019s unlikely team-up with Daredevil\u2018s Frank Castle<\/a> (with Jon Bernthal stepping back into the Punisher\u2019s boots<\/a>)\u2014as he literally plows a van into Peter\u2019s side\u2014as well as the return of the Hulk himself (or at least, Mark Ruffalo\u2019s Bruce Banner<\/a>), the trailer focuses on Peter\u2019s struggles trying to adapt to a world where he has lost his best friend and his girlfriend. Oh, and Peter\u2019s stress building to give him some\u00a0very interesting power evolutions.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, the trailer doesn\u2019t show us anything about Sadie Sink\u2019s mysterious character. There\u2019s been plenty of speculation<\/a> about who she could play (including the idea she could be the herald of mutants into the MCU as Jean Grey), but the\u00a0Stranger Things star and Marvel alike have been playing their cards close to their chests<\/a>. Aside from\u00a0Brand New Day, she\u2019s also meant to appear in\u00a0Avengers: Secret Wars in some capacity<\/a>, so it\u2019s clear her character will be big.<\/p>\n

Before all that, though, we\u2019ll have to see what\u2019s cooking in the spider-verse when Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters July 31.<\/p>\n
