A housing development that calls for 13 buildings ranging from eight to 44 storeys has been proposed for an area of Brampton that is still largely underdeveloped.<\/p>\n
The plan, if it comes to fruition, will create\u00a05,146 residential units consisting of one, two and three-bedroom residences and bring in thousands of new residents to the area of Mississauga Road just north of Bovaird Drive West in the northwest area of the city.<\/p>\n
Brampton\u2019s planning committee will consider some of the land use changes asked for by developers at a meeting scheduled for next week. The land is currently zoned for agricultural use.<\/p>\n
Along with the residential towers \u2014 of which 11 will be 26 floors or taller \u2014 there will be considerable space allotted in the development for ground-floor office space and businesses such as a restaurant, take-out food establishment, daycare, gym and bank.<\/p>\n
Other highlights include 4,374 parking spaces, a new internal street network, and access points from the future Williams Parkway extension.<\/p>\n
