\u201cIt\u2019s hard to see past this, I\u2019m not going to lie. In this moment, it\u2019s just so heavy and when your life is broadcasted out there in these headlines, it\u2019s like the end of the world. That\u2019s what it feels like,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Paul did not elaborate on any details of the alleged incident.<\/p>\n

Who is Taylor Frankie Paul?<\/p>\n

Paul became known as an influencer in the #MomTok community, a group of women from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sharing their lives on TikTok. She made news when she announced in 2022 that she had \u201cstepped out\u201d of an agreement with her now ex-husband in terms of relationships with other couples involving \u201csoft-swinging\u201d (a form of partner-swapping) and they were getting divorced.<\/p>\n

Her popularity on TikTok exploded and she has amassed 6.1 million followers on the app and 2.4 million on Instagram.<\/p>\n

Paul and Mortensen\u2019s relationship has been a major storyline on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which follows a group of Mormon mom influencers while they navigate their relationships. The most recent season began airing last week and revealed that Paul and Mortensen spent the night together before she left to star in Season 22 of The Bachelorette, which debuts on March 22.<\/p>\n

Paul and Mortensen, who share their nearly two-year-old son Ever True, have had an on-and-off relationship following her split with ex-husband Tate Paul in 2022. She is also mom to eight-year-old Indy and five-year-old Ocean from her previous marriage with Tate.<\/p>\n

The domestic violence allegations<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department confirmed to People<\/a> and local affiliate ABC4 Utah<\/a> that there is an open \u201cdomestic assault investigation\u201d regarding Paul and Mortensen, 33.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson confirmed that \u201callegations have been made in both directions\u201d and \u201ccontact was made with involved parties on [Feb.] 24th and 25th,\u201d People reports.<\/p>\n

In responses to other outlets, the police department has not revealed any details about the case, citing \u201cprivacy\u201d and its \u201cactive investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n

After news of the investigation spread, Paul told People on Tuesday<\/a> that her \u201cheart hurts to see it, to go through it, especially at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cJust the timing is hard, and it\u2019s a big deal. I feel like every premiere that I\u2019ve experienced, I\u2019ve never enjoyed fully, so this is another one\u2026. It\u2019s extremely hard, and it took everything to get me here today,\u201d she said of the investigation and the upcoming premiere of The Bachelorette.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just heavy. It\u2019s a heavy time, and it\u2019s unfortunate,\u201d the influencer continued. \u201cI\u2019m struggling for sure, but also at the same time I feel like if I don\u2019t show up, then I\u2019m just giving these opportunities away and not enjoying what we\u2019ve worked on and something super exciting that\u2019s coming.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also told the Hollywood Reporter<\/a> that it\u2019s been \u201creally difficult and heavy given, you know, all the headlines and what\u2019s going on.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I would say I am handling it like any normal human would, like struggling, but trying to show up at the same time,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Mortensen\u2019s representative addressed the reports of the domestic assault investigation in a statement to Entertainment Weekly<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis number one priority here is protecting Ever,\u201d his rep said on Wednesday. \u201cHe knew there was a possibility it could come out, but he was not going to be the one to proactively do that because he has always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been really hard to achieve that, but he wants to co-parent well,\u201d his rep added.<\/p>\n

Mortensen\u2019s rep also denied that he was the reason the situation became public and said he was hoping the drama would de-escalate.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was just hoping that if he says nothing, as he usually does, it would go away. He\u2019s never done any kind of sit-down interview about his side,\u201d the rep continued. \u201cHe kind of just lets it all happen to him, and I think he realizes with the severity of everything now that he just can\u2019t do that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paul was previously arrested in 2023 for domestic violence following an argument with Mortensen, which was featured in the first season of the reality series. She faced misdemeanour charges of assault, criminal mischief and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child after she was accused of throwing a chair at Mortensen that reportedly hit her daughter, CBS News reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old reality star pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in August 2023, while the other charges were dismissed, according to ABC4 Utah<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast<\/a>, Paul told host Alex Cooper that the charges stemming from her 2023 arrest \u201cwere all dropped.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI never had hurt my daughter. I never intentionally did anything with my children,\u201d Paul added.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the arrest, I was under so much stress. I was filmed leaving the jail and then that was immediately on the internet,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was a blessing in disguise. It helped me wake up.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives filming on \u2018pause\u2019<\/p>\n

Production on Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has been halted following the investigation into the allegations involving Paul and Mortensen.<\/p>\n

During her appearance on\u00a0Good Morning America on Wednesday, Paul said she doesn\u2019t \u201ccall the shots with production.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paul, an executive producer on the reality series, did say that she has \u201cgotten word that there\u2019s a pause\u201d in filming but she doesn\u2019t know for how long.<\/p>\n

The #MomTok influencer spoke about where she stands with the cast of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives on Tuesday after a source previously told People that the cast was \u201cdistancing themselves\u201d from Paul amid the situation.<\/p>\n

Speaking with the Hollywood Reporter, Paul said, \u201cFrom my end, I\u2019ve always been good with all of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I think we\u2019ve kind of seen how I am very graceful with all the girls, even at their darkest and hardest times. So for me, I feel like the same thing, just with all of them to this day. I have nothing against any of them. So if they have any hesitancy or have an issue with me, that is, you know, their prerogative, not mine,\u201d Paul said.<\/p>\n

A source close to the cast told People on Monday that the show is currently \u201cnot filming.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTaylor [Frankie Paul] has some pretty serious stuff happening regarding her past, and they will see what happens. Until that resolves, they are off,\u201d the source added.<\/p>\n

TMZ first reported<\/a> the shooting stoppage and noted that it currently remains unclear how long production will remain paused or whether cameras will resume rolling soon.<\/p>\n

Paul\u2019s season of The Bachelorette is still set to premiere Sunday, March 22.<\/p>\n

U.S network ABC shared a promotional teaser<\/a> on Tuesday following the reports, signalling that the network plans to proceed with the season.<\/p>\n

Paul, who will date 22 men in the upcoming season, is the first Bachelorette to lead the franchise despite never appearing on\u00a0The Bachelor.<\/p>\n

She spoke about the opportunity to become The Bachelorette during her GMA interview on Wednesday, saying, \u201cDating for me as a mom of three is extremely difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI get to go out, get away from my toxic cycle here in Utah and date and also have my kids come out and visit me. That to me seemed like, why not?\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Paul said the experience was exhausting but worth it because \u201cyou\u2019re finding the love of your life and that\u2019s what you\u2019re striving for.\u201d<\/p>\n

After news of the investigation spread, Paul took to social media and posted a TikTok<\/a> dancing alongside a mystery man, who never shows his face in the frame.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t hear you, I\u2019m kinda busy,\u201d she wrote in text over the video, set to Lady Gaga and Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s hit song Telephone.<\/p>\n

Paul was asked about the TikTok video during her interview and said the man in the video is \u201csomeone that\u2019s in my life\u201d but that she \u201ccan\u2019t give away too much\u201d because \u201cthat would ruin the surprise.\u201d<\/p>\n
