Caleb Wilson had a disappointing end to his freshman season with the North Carolina Tar Heels.<\/p>\n

The UNC phenom was one of the best players in the country until injury struck. And now, he’ll have a decision to make on the NBA Draft.<\/p>\n

Most would expect Wilson to head to the league. He should be a top-five pick. Guys don’t pass that up.<\/p>\n

But as many freshmen in recent times have expressed, college has been a great experience for Wilson. He’s not sure he wants to go.<\/p>\n

This is what he told reporters<\/a> on Wednesday before UNC’s March Madness gets underway:<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t decided yet, but I love Carolina. It\u2019s a great place to be, and it\u2019s been the most fun year of my life. It will definitely be hard to say no and go to the NBA. It\u2019s something I haven\u2019t really come to a true decision on yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

That’s not all that different from what Duke’s Cooper Flagg said a year ago, and he obviously still left for the NBA, and he was the No. 1 overall pick.<\/p>\n

Wilson can’t really pass up a top-five spot, can he?<\/p>\n

It’d be a pretty unprecedented move, at least in these days of the one-and-done.<\/p>\n

Wilson is certainly ready for the NBA. He averaged 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.4 blocks per game this season.<\/p>\n

It’d be a bold move for Wilson to stay. It’d certainly create a lot of hype for UNC’s 2026-27 season.<\/p>\n

And Wilson saying this will at least keep the fans wondering a little bit longer. He’s telling them there’s a chance, even if it doesn’t seem like a big one.<\/p>\n
