Brazil<\/a> has seen a skyscraper<\/a> boom in recent years, with several in the major cities and the completion of the country’s tallest in 2025 in the coastal town of Balne\u00e1rio Cambori\u00fa<\/a>. Here, we round up eight across the country.<\/p>\n

In response to growing populations and urbanisation in major cities across Brazil, some developers and architects are embracing vertical construction.<\/p>\n

International studios such as Dutch firm UNStudio<\/a> and French architect\u00a0Jean Nouvel<\/a> have completed tower projects in the country, while local studio Triptyque<\/a> has pushed forward with several characteristic, grid-clad skyscrapers.<\/p>\n

In late 2024, local developer FG Empreendimentos<\/a> announced it would be building the tallest residential tower in the world<\/a>, also in Balne\u00e1rio Cambori\u00fa<\/a>. Supported by the brand of Brazilian car racer Ayrton Senna, the project is reportedly under development.<\/p>\n

However, Brazil has yet to complete a supertall skyscraper<\/a>, with the tallest just below the 300 metre threshold.<\/p>\n

Mata Atlantica Tower, S\u00e3o Paulo, by Jean Nouvel<\/a><\/p>\n

French architect\u00a0Jean Nouvel<\/a> completed this 25-storey tower at the Rosewood S\u00e3o Paulo resort in 2024, which features interiors by French designer\u00a0Philippe Starck<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The volume steps back into large roof gardens and various balconies, which are covered by vertical timber screens meant to encourage the growth of indigenous flora and fauna.<\/p>\n

AGE360, S\u00e3o Paulo, by Triptyque and Architects Office<\/a><\/p>\n

This 124-metre-tall, 36-storey skyscraper contains 34 apartments, supported by a load-bearing concrete “exoskeleton”.<\/p>\n

Studios Triptyque<\/a> and Architects Office<\/a> based the tower’s facade around a simple grid, which was then warped and bent to respond to climatic and site conditions.<\/p>\n

Yachthouse, Balne\u00e1rio Cambori\u00fa, by Pininfarina<\/a><\/p>\n

The twin skyscrapers by Pininfarina<\/a> became the tallest building in Brazil<\/a> last year, topping out at 294 metres high (964 feet) \u2013 only six metres from the supertall skyscraper<\/a> designation.<\/p>\n

Located in the coastal city of Balne\u00e1rio Cambori\u00fa<\/a>, it is one of many skyscrapers the city has become known for.<\/p>\n

EZ Parque da Cidade, S\u00e3o Paulo, by UNStudio<\/a><\/p>\n

The EZ Parque da Cidade development encompasses two residential skyscrapers<\/a> reaching 39 and 36 storeys tall, which contain\u00a0 “windmill-shaped” floor plans.<\/p>\n

“This inventive floorplan, across all four apartment types, improves cross ventilation, allowing for fresh air and natural daylight to penetrate every room, for a more comfortable indoor temperature and healthy living environment,” said UNStudio<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Vitra, Balne\u00e1rio Cambori\u00fa, by Pininfarina<\/a><\/p>\n

Located along Avenue Brasil in Balne\u00e1rio Cambori\u00fa<\/a>, the Vitra skyscraper<\/a> rises 62 storeys at 682 feet.<\/p>\n

The mixed-use skyscraper is composed of a tower that rises through the centre of a triangular-shaped podium and is composed of a thin volume bordered by a “continuous aluminium frame”.<\/p>\n

Inspira SP, S\u00e3o Paulo, by Triptyque<\/a><\/p>\n

Similar to its AGE360 project, Triptyque wrapped the Inspira SP skyscraper in a concrete superstructure, which is covered in planters.<\/p>\n

“By moving the load-bearing elements to the periphery, the structural grid frees up the internal spaces, allowing each floor to be occupied in a free, flexible, and reprogrammable manner,” said the studio.<\/p>\n

Pietro Maria Bardi, S\u00e3o Paulo, by Metro Arquitetos Associados<\/a><\/p>\n

Metro Arquitetos Associados<\/a> recently completed an extension to Lina Bo Bardi’s famed Museu de Arte de S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n

The 14-storey monolithic, black tower sits directly next to the museum’s original, elevated structure and mirrors “exactly the same dimensions” as the horizontal form.<\/p>\n

Bueno Brand\u00e3o 257, S\u00e3o Paulo, by K\u00f6nigsberger Vannucchi Arquitetos Associados\u202f<\/p>\n

Designed by local studio K\u00f6nigsberger Vannucchi Arquitetos Associados<\/a>\u202f combines porcelain panels and certified Finnish timber cladding<\/a> on its facade, which is “a rare application in Brazil”, according to the team.<\/p>\n
