{"id":547703,"date":"2026-03-19T22:46:21","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T22:46:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/547703\/"},"modified":"2026-03-19T22:46:21","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T22:46:21","slug":"vancouvers-cherry-blossom-festival-returns-with-new-events-for-milestone-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/547703\/","title":{"rendered":"Vancouver&#8217;s Cherry Blossom Festival returns with new events for milestone year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Get your cameras ready because the colourful Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival (VCBF) is returning this spring, and it will be blooming bigger than ever.<\/p>\n<p>The festival is one of the city\u2019s most beloved yearly events, with a huge lineup of events to discover from March 27 to April 17.<\/p>\n<p>VCBF is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vcbf.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">celebration of the city\u2019s gorgeous pink cherry trees<\/a>, and the 20th annual event will see the debut of the brand-new event, the Blossom Run.<\/p>\n<p>The Blossom Run, co-hosted with The Right Shoe, is a springtime 7 km fun run through the city\u2019s beautiful cherry blossoms.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be shoe demos, a chance to win prizes in a draw, and an opportunity to connect with the community during the fun run. A waitlist is open <a href=\"https:\/\/vcbf.ca\/event\/blossom-run-waitlist-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">now<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vcbf.tickit.ca\/events\/33685-sakura-days-japan-fair-2026?utm_source=vcbf&amp;utm_medium=dh&amp;utm_campaign=sdjf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Sakura Days Japan Fair is happening on April 12 and 13 at Vancouver\u2019s VanDusen Botanical Garden<\/a>. Thousands of guests are expected at the popular event that features live performances, food trucks, and all things Japanese culture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoin us and immerse yourself in Japanese culture \u2014 participate in a traditional tea ceremony, try Japanese festival food, sample premium sake, learn new Japanese games, and enjoy a range of cultural performances,\u201d said organizers in the event description.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDiscover a wide variety of vendors and exhibitors featuring local Japanese food, crafts, and businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival\" title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"size-large wp-image-2254163\" style=\"color:transparent\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Vancouver-Cherry-Blossom-Festival-1024x684.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2254163\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival<\/p>\n<p>Also returning this year is the signature event, Blossom Block Party, with a car-free Dunsmuir Street.<\/p>\n<p>The all-ages party by Public Disco will take place at Dunsmuir Patio at Bentall Centre, with DJ sets by Sakiko Nagai, Kozue, Nina Mendoza, and Beiti. There will also be family-friendly activities and interactive art in celebration of the city\u2019s beautiful blossoms.<\/p>\n<p>The popular Blossoms After Dark takeover of David Lam Park returns from March 27 to 28.
