{"id":547737,"date":"2026-03-19T23:05:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T23:05:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/547737\/"},"modified":"2026-03-19T23:05:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T23:05:08","slug":"new-calgary-stampeders-stadium-could-be-built-at-stampede-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/547737\/","title":{"rendered":"New Calgary Stampeders stadium could be built at Stampede Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Scotia Place may not be the only new major sporting facility coming to Calgary.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Calgary Stampede CEO Joe Cowley outlined several ideas as part of the city\u2019s new 20-year master plan for Stampede Park. Part of that plan is already well underway, as<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/calgary\/calgary-flames-saddledome-expected-demolished-date\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> construction on Scotia Place<\/a>, the new home of the Calgary Flames, began in July of 2024.<\/p>\n<p>As it turns out, yet another professional sports team could be playing at Stampede Park in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>While the Saddledome has been an outdated venue for several years, the same can be said about the home of the Calgary Stampeders, McMahon Stadium. The Stampeders have played out of McMahon for over 65 years.<\/p>\n<p>As reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/calgary\/stampede-park-master-plan-9.7133699\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">CBC\u2019s Karina Zapata<\/a>, Cowley said that the master plan put together includes the possibility of building a new home for the Stampeders at Stampede Park.
