{"id":548089,"date":"2026-03-20T02:42:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-20T02:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/548089\/"},"modified":"2026-03-20T02:42:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-20T02:42:08","slug":"rainycrest-long-term-care-outbreak-declared-over","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/548089\/","title":{"rendered":"Rainycrest Long Term Care outbreak declared over"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A respiratory outbreak in the facility\u2019s west wing has ended, but another in its east wing remains.<\/p>\n<p>FORT FRANCES \u2014 Local health care and public health officials have declared a respiratory outbreak at a long-term care home is over.<\/p>\n<p>However, one that was put in place earlier in the week remains.<\/p>\n<p>Riverside Health Care, along with the Northwestern Health Unit, declared the outbreak that was in place on Rainycrest Long Term Care Home\u2019s west wing over in a media release issued late Thursday afternoon. Another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nwonewswatch.com\/local-news\/respiratory-outbreak-at-long-term-care-home-leads-to-restrictions-12018642\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">separate outbreak<\/a> that was put in place in place in the facility\u2019s east wing remains.<\/p>\n<p>That means all restrictions concerning visitors and residents are no longer in effect in the west wing area, Riverside said in its release.<\/p>\n<p>The west wing outbreak was <a href=\"https:\/\/riversidehealthcare.ca\/newsroom?newsid=3147&amp;fbclid=IwY2xjawQpdehleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFOdG90WklRSUVwTWdHYU9ac3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHv4I0p1WGvIb12vJeEddAOVFVADWRnm8QW-c-3MDk1zZ2sHL_XJpXu_XOO9P_aem_9jfesIRDN41oAG1TIS6ODw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">declared<\/a> on March 10.<\/p>\n<p>However, the operator said that enhanced masking protocols remain in place at Rainycrest as part of its \u201congoing infection prevention and control practices.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to remind visitors that infection prevention remains a shared responsibility. Individuals are asked not to visit if they are feeling unwell, particularly if experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, and to practice good hand hygiene when entering and leaving the building,\u201d its release said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A respiratory outbreak in the facility\u2019s west wing has ended, but another in its east wing remains.
