WBC welterweight world champion Ryan Garcia seemingly wants to teach boxing<\/a> rival Shakur Stevenson a thing or two about the sport.<\/p>\n

Garcia, 27, completed one of the most remarkable turnarounds on February 21 when he outclassed Mario Barrios with a masterful and mature performance at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, having previously been resoundingly beaten by Rolando \u2018Rolly\u2019 Romero, after a win over Devin Haney was retrospectively changed to a No Contest following a positive test result for a banned substance.<\/p>\n

28-year-old Stevenson, meanwhile, really came into his own in 2025 when he outboxed Jose Ramirez and Brian Norman with an apparent ease. <\/p>\n

On a video with \u2018The Mexican Monster\u2019 David Benavidez, Garcia said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI really want to fight Shakur bad.\u201d <\/p>\n

Garcia wants to knock him down a rung, or two. \u201cI just don\u2019t like people who think [they\u2019re better than they are], like, you\u2019re not the best. You\u2019re not even showing you\u2019re like that. It\u2019s one thing to win a fight, it\u2019s another to show that. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s out here saying, oh, \u2018I\u2019m the best\u2019. Bro, you\u2019re not the best fighter. There\u2019s a lot of guys who are monsters. You\u2019re like a puppy.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear a bout between Garcia and Stevenson will happen any time, with the 147-pound division\u2019s newest ruler more frequently linked with a summer showdown against the likes Of Teofimo Lopez, Raul Curiel, or Devin Haney.<\/p>\n

In a video Ring Magazine posted earlier this week, Garcia said he has limited options because \u201cDevin Haney ducked me, Shakur just ducked me. Teofimo \u2014 for him to come to 147, is going to be hard for him, but he said he\u2019s down.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was not long before Stevenson responded. \u201cYou sent me a contract?\u201d He said, overlooking Garcia\u2019s other comments.<\/p>\n
