The Bridgwater neighbourhood will soon be home ot a new personal care home.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The province says community consultations surrounding this new PCH will begin in June.<\/p>\n
“Manitoba\u2019s seniors built our province. They worked hard and sacrificed to make life better for their children and their grandchildren, and now it\u2019s our turn to take care of them,” said Premier Wab Kinew.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The PCH in the Waverley West community will be a small house model, giving seniors dignity and a true sense of home.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Albert Friesen, board member of Winnipeg Mennonite Seniors Care Inc., says they are grateful for the announcement of the new PCH.<\/p>\n
“Bridgwater will set a new standard for senior care in our community by combining compassionate staff, thoughtful design and strong partnerships with local health and social services,” said Friesen. “We look forward to welcoming residents and families, and to continuing our work with government and community partners to ensure every senior receives the care they deserve.”<\/p>\n
The province will meet with area residents in June to begin chatting about how a new PCH can best meet the needs of Bridgwater residents and families.<\/p>\n
