{"id":549815,"date":"2026-03-20T21:25:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-20T21:25:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/549815\/"},"modified":"2026-03-20T21:25:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-20T21:25:08","slug":"oilers-trent-frederic-out-with-injury-no-timeline-for-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/549815\/","title":{"rendered":"Oilers&#8217; Trent Frederic out with injury, no timeline for return"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/hockey\/nhl\/players\/trent-frederic\/41acc046-28ad-430f-94e5-604d7f35daff\" class=\"sn-player-post-link\" target=\"_self\" data-player=\"41acc046-28ad-430f-94e5-604d7f35daff\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Trent Frederic<\/a> will be sidelined with an undisclosed injury, head coach Kris Knoblauch <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/GenePrincipe\/status\/2035071021938807135?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">announced<\/a> after practice on Friday, before adding that he doesn&#8217;t have a timeline for a return from the injury.<\/p>\n<p>Frederic joins Leon Draisaitl, Colton Dach, Mattias Janmark and Curtis Lazar as forwards who have been hurt over the past month.<\/p>\n<p>The 28-year-old Frederic appeared to get hurt near the end of the second period of Thursday&#8217;s loss to Florida while forechecking.<\/p>\n<p>Frederic has struggled in Edmonton since being acquired prior to the trade deadline last season, notching a combined five goals in 90 regular season and post-season games.<\/p>\n<p>The six-foot-three, 221-pound forward inked an eight-year, $30.8-million extension with the club prior to the 2025 campaign.
