But as far as succession goes, the X8 Pro is a direct sequel to the Poco X7 Pro alright and its Iron Man Edition lives on as well.

The Poco X8 Pro improves on the X7 Pro with more powerful hardware, a larger battery, and a more compact yet brighter display. The Iron Man Edition gets a black overhaul together with a redesigned retail box and case.

The Poco X8 Pro is, in fact, the global version of the Redmi Turbo 5, which is a China-only device.

I features a 6.59-inch AMOLED with 12-bit color depth, 1268p resolution, 120Hz, and Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. The screen is protected by a Gorilla Glass 7i.

The Poco X8 Pro employs Dimensity 8500 Ultra chip by MediaTek with faster CPU and GPU than the X7 Pro’s Dimensity 8400 Ultra.

The camera department remains pretty basic and hasn’t changed since the X7 Pro. There is a 50MP OIS primary, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 20MP Quad-Bayer selfie camera.

The Poco X8 Pro is powered by a 6,500mAh battery capable of 100W wired and 27W reverse wired charging.

Xiaomi Poco X8 Pro specs at a glance:

Body: 157.5×75.2×8.2mm, 204g; Glass front, aluminum frame; IP68 dust tight and water resistant (immersible up to 1.5m for 30 min).
Display: 6.59″ AMOLED, 68B colors, 120Hz, 3840Hz PWM, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, 3500 nits (peak), 1268x2756px resolution, 19.56:9 aspect ratio, 460ppi.
Chipset: Mediatek Dimensity 8500 Ultra (4 nm): Octa-core (1×3.4 GHz Cortex-A725 & 3×3.2 GHz Cortex-A725 & 4×2.2 GHz Cortex-A725); Mali-G720 MC8.
Memory: 256GB 8GB RAM, 512GB 8GB RAM, 512GB 12GB RAM; LPDDR5X UFS 4.1.
OS/Software: Android 16, HyperOS 3.
Rear camera: Wide (main): 50 MP, f/1.5, 26mm, 1/1.95″, 0.8µm, PDAF, OIS; Ultra wide angle: 50 MP, f/1.5, 26mm, 1/1.95″, 0.8µm, PDAF, OIS.
Front camera: 20 MP, f/2.2, (wide), 1/4″.
Video capture: Rear camera: 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240/960fps, gyro-EIS, HDR10+; Front camera: 1080p@30/60fps.
Battery: 7560mAh; 100W wired, 100W PPS, PD3.0, 27W reverse wired.
Connectivity: 5G; Wi-Fi 6; BT 5.4, aptX HD, LHDC 5, Auracast, ASHA, MIHC; NFC; Infrared port.
Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, optical); stereo speakers.

We have never been fans of Xiaomi’s 20MP selfie cameras so we are certainly not fans of seeing this camera here yet again.

Unboxing the Poco X8 Pro

The Poco X8 Pro ships with a cable and a case if you opt for the regular edition.
