{"id":551511,"date":"2026-03-21T16:14:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-21T16:14:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/551511\/"},"modified":"2026-03-21T16:14:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-21T16:14:08","slug":"8-vancouver-restaurants-that-have-closed-or-are-closing-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/551511\/","title":{"rendered":"8 Vancouver restaurants that have closed or are closing soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The restaurant industry can be fickle, and unfortunately, we\u2019ve lost some favourites.<\/p>\n<p>From vegan spots downsizing locations to a beloved taco brand announcing the closure of all three of its locations, these are eight restaurants that have recently announced closures in and around Vancouver.<\/p>\n<p>Closing soon<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/meet-in-yaletown-vancouver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">MeeT in Yaletown<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Following the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/meet-gastown-closed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">closure of its Gastown location<\/a>\u00a0late last year, MeeT has announced that it will also be closing the doors to its Yaletown outpost.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe realize this may come as a surprise to many of you, but we\u2019ve made the difficult decision to close our 8-year-strong MeeT in Yaletown location,\u201d wrote the restaurant on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>As for the reason for the closure, the restaurant went on to list multiple reasons for ultimately shutting down its Yaletown outpost.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe restaurant industry hasn\u2019t been the same since COVID,\u201d wrote MeeT. \u201cWhile we\u2019ve remained busy, the cost structure of the industry has changed dramatically. Food and labour costs continue to rise, while many people are dining out less often. Yaletown will always be a special place for us, but in this challenging economy, we also recognize that having multiple locations so close to each other presents challenges as we look toward the future. These changes mean it\u2019s time to focus on our original location, MeeT on Main.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s right, fans of the vegan restaurant are still in luck as the eatery shared that its location on Main Street is \u201cabsolutely remaining open.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLooking ahead at [Meet on Main], we\u2019re planning expanded hours, refreshed menus, new feature programs, a brand new patio, and the potential addition of brunch,\u201d added MeeT.<\/p>\n<p>Its final day of operation in Yaletown is Saturday, March 28.<\/p>\n<p>Address:\u00a01165 Mainland St., Vancouver<\/p>\n<p>Now closed<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/bacaro-vancouver-closed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Bacaro<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bacaro made the unfortunate announcement that it would be joining the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/vancouver-closed-restaurants-february-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">growing list of restaurants<\/a>\u00a0that have closed in Vancouver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA thousand thanks for all the love over the years,\u201d shared the restaurant on Instagram. \u201cCiao, bella.\u201d The eatery is also officially listed as \u201cpermanently closed\u201d on Google, and its website has since been taken down.<\/p>\n<p>Bacaro was best known for its selection of Italian dishes. Think plenty of pasta and Italian wines, all served up in the Fairmont Pacific Rim. It first opened its doors in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Address:\u00a0Fairmont Pacific Rim \u2014 1029 W. Cordova St., Vancouver<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/gringo-vancouver-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Gringo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gringo made the unfortunate announcement that it would be closing all of its locations in March.<\/p>\n<p>March 7 was the final day of service at its Davie and Lonsdale locations, while March 14 was the last service at its Gastown location.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDue to ongoing challenges, it is with heavy hearts that Gringo Restaurants has made the difficult decision to dramatically downsize &amp; decrease its operations,\u201d wrote the taco shop on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>Macu Tea \u2014 Multiple locations<\/p>\n<p>Macu Tea has closed multiple of its locations across Metro Vancouver recently.<\/p>\n<p>First, the brand closed its <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/macu-tea-vancouver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Burnaby and Robson locations<\/a> on Feb. 23. Following that, it closed its <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/macu-tea-richmond-closed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Richmond Capstan location<\/a> on March 10.<\/p>\n<p>Now Macu\u2019s only operates its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/macu-tea-kerrisdale\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Kerrisdale location<\/a>\u00a0at 5971 West Blvd. in Vancouver.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/little-karp-richmond-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Little Karp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Located on Alexandra Road among other much-loved restaurants like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/chinese-restaurant-awards-2025-elite-30\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The Fish Man<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/little-pisces\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Little Pisces<\/a>, Little Karp\u2019s menu celebrates the ocean\u2019s bounty with its creative take on classic seafood dishes, highlighting Asian flavours with West Coast ingredients. The restaurant first <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/little-karp-richmond\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">opened its doors in 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat began as a simple idea grew into countless shared meals, celebrations, late nights, and meaningful conversations. We are deeply thankful for every guest who walked through our doors and became part of our story,\u201d wrote the restaurant on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>Its official final day was March 4.<\/p>\n<p>Address:\u00a08631 Alexandra Rd. Unit 110, Richmond<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/chef-hung-aberdeen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Chef Hung \u2014 Aberdeen<\/a><\/p>\n<p>After 16 years of operating in Richmond, Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle announced that it <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/vancouver-closed-restaurants-february-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">closed<\/a>\u00a0its Aberdeen location on Feb. 23, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are deeply grateful for your loyalty, support, and memories shared with us over the years. It has truly been an honour to be part of your dining experiences,\u201d wrote the restaurant on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>Chef Hung is brought to us by the man of the same name, an award-winning and three-time champion of the Taipei International Beef Noodle Festival Competition between 2007 and 2010. The restaurant is best known for its beef noodle soup, but it also offers a variety of other dishes like deep-fried pork chop on rice, dumplings, hot and sour soup, and more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Fans of the noodle restaurant can still visit it at its UBC (3313 Shrum Ln.) and SFU (9055 University High St. #109) locations.<\/p>\n<p>Address:\u00a04151 Hazelbridge Way #2800, Richmond<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/jamjar-canteen-vancouver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">JamJar Canteen<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 UBC<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLovey people, our UBC location is now permanently closed. Please visit us at Commercial Dr.,\u201d wrote JamJar Canteen on its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jamjarcanteen.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>JamJar is best known for its wraps, mezzes, or rice and salad bowls. Think Chicken Shish Tawouk, Makali deep-fried cauliflower tossed in pomegranate molasses, lamb sausages, falafel, and all the signature dips.<\/p>\n<p>Now that its UBC location has closed, its final outpost can be found at 2290 Commercial Dr., Vancouver.<\/p>\n<p>Address:\u00a06035 University Blvd., Vancouver<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/natalinos-pizza-closed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Natalino\u2019s Pizza<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/best-pizza-vancouver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Pizza lovers<\/a> in South Surrey have lost a gem now that Natalino\u2019s Pizza officially closed its final Metro Vancouver location.<\/p>\n<p>Natalino\u2019s opened its <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/natalinos-pizza-south-surrey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">South Surrey outpost<\/a> in February 2024, marking a just over two-year run for what was the pizza shop\u2019s second outpost at the time.<\/p>\n<p>An official closure announcement has yet to be made for the restaurant, but the interior has been gutted aside from a few fridges, and it is currently listed as \u201cPermanently Closed\u201d on Google.<\/p>\n<p>Natalino\u2019s also operated a location in Crescent Beach, which closed its doors last year.
