Stevie Young \u2013 rhythm guitarist of rock titans AC\/DC<\/a> \u2013 has been admitted to hospital in Argentina ahead of the band\u2019s upcoming show in Buenos Aires on Monday, 23 March.<\/p>\n

According to a statement issued to Reuters<\/a>, the 69-year-old guitarist still plans to perform with the band on Monday, and that his admission to hospital was \u201cout of an abundance of caution\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cOut of an abundance of caution, he [Stevie Young] was admitted to a local hospital where he is undergoing \u200ba full battery of tests,\u201d reads the statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cStevie is doing well and \u200bis in good spirits. He is looking forward to getting on stage on Monday.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stevie Young joined AC\/DC in 2014, after his uncle Malcolm Young stepped back from his duties due to health issues. Malcolm sadly passed away in 2017. Stevie had performed with AC\/DC before, notably during 1988\u2019s Blow Up Your Video World Tour. His first recordings with the band came on 2014\u2019s Rock or Bust.<\/p>\n

AC\/DC are currently in the midst of a South America tour, having already played shows in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil and Santiago, Chile. After three shows in Buenos Aires on 23, 27 and 31 March, the band will head to Mexico, before commencing a string of shows in the US from July through September 2026.<\/p>\n
