{"id":551778,"date":"2026-03-21T19:16:02","date_gmt":"2026-03-21T19:16:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/551778\/"},"modified":"2026-03-21T19:16:02","modified_gmt":"2026-03-21T19:16:02","slug":"man-charged-in-north-york-homicide-woman-found-dead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/551778\/","title":{"rendered":"Man charged in North York homicide; woman found dead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A man has been arrested and charged after a woman was found dead inside a North York home earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tps.ca\/media-centre\/news-releases\/65421\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tps.ca\/media-centre\/news-releases\/65421\/\">news release<\/a>, Toronto police say officers responded on March 11 at approximately 1:32 p.m., to a call in the Threadneedle Crescent and Cresthaven Drive area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police say the victim was located deceased inside a residence, and the circumstances were deemed suspicious.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The victim has been identified as Xian Wei Shao, 60, of Toronto. Police say this marks Toronto\u2019s fourth homicide of the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">As a result, 60-year-old Sheng Long Wang of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He is scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, earlier today at 10 a.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The investigation remains ongoing.
