Italian football star Jorginho Frello publicly criticized Chappell Roan<\/a> on social media after he said his 11-year-old stepdaughter was left \u201cextremely shaken\u201d and in tears after being confronted by a member of the singer\u2019s security team.<\/p>\n

As Frello tells it, his daughter was in S\u00e3o Paulo to see Chappell Roan perform at Lollapalooza Brasil and happened to be staying at the same hotel as the artist. \u201cDuring breakfast, [Roan] walked past their table. My daughter, like any child, recognised her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her. And the worst part is she didn\u2019t even approach her. She simply walked past the singer\u2019s table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didn\u2019t say anything, didn\u2019t ask for anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat happened next was completely disproportionate,\u201d Frello wrote. \u201cA large security guard came over to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and my daughter, saying that she shouldn\u2019t allow my daughter to \u2018disrespect\u2019 or \u2018harass\u2019 other people\u2026 He even said he would file a complaint against them with the hotel, while my 11-year-old daughter was sitting there in tears.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve lived with football, public exposure, and well-known people for many years, and I understand very well what respect and boundaries are. What happened there was not that,\u201d Frello added. \u201cIt was just a child admiring someone. It\u2019s sad to see this kind of treatment coming from those who should understand the importance of fans. At the end of the day, they are the ones who build all of this.\u201d<\/p>\n

The child is Frello\u2019s stepdaughter through his marriage to Catherine Harding; her biological father is Jude Law.<\/p>\n

Roan previously spoke about her need to set boundaries with fans in public<\/a>. \u201cI don\u2019t want whatever the fuck you think you\u2019re supposed to be entitled to whenever you see a celebrity,\u201d Roan explained in a 2024 TikTok video. \u201cI don\u2019t give a fuck if you think it\u2019s selfish of me to say no for a photo or for your time or for a hug. That\u2019s not normal. That\u2019s weird. It\u2019s weird how people think that you know a person just \u2019cause you see them online or you listen to the art they make. That\u2019s fucking weird. I\u2019m allowed to say no to creepy behavior, okay?\u201d<\/p>\n
