{"id":553874,"date":"2026-03-22T20:10:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-22T20:10:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/553874\/"},"modified":"2026-03-22T20:10:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-22T20:10:07","slug":"police-investigating-homicide-in-surrey-ihit-called-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/553874\/","title":{"rendered":"Police investigating homicide in Surrey; IHIT called in"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation of a Saturday morning homicide in Surrey, police say.<\/p>\n<p>Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers were called to the area of Foxglove Drive and 98th Avenue around 11:15 a.m. to assist BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) and Surrey Fire with an unresponsive man.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon arrival, members located a man apparently suffering from injuries who was receiving treatment from BCEHS,\u201d the SPS said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite life-saving efforts, the man was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The incident appears to be isolated, police say.
