\n\tChappell Roan<\/a> is telling her side of the story after Brazilian soccer player Jorginho Frello slammed the pop star and her team\u2019s \u201cextremely aggressive\u201d treatment of his daughter <\/a>at a S\u00e3o Paulo hotel on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe athlete alleged on his Instagram Story that one of the Grammy winner\u2019s security guards confronted his wife and daughter at the hotel they were both staying at after his child \u201csimply walked past the singer\u2019s table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFrello did not share the name of the child, though his wife, Catherine Harding,\u00a0shares<\/a>\u00a0an 11-year-old daughter with Jude Law.<\/p>\n

\n\tRoan, who is headlining Lollapalooza Brazil in S\u00e3o Paulo, took to her Instagram Story Sunday morning to address the situation, clarifying that her \u201cpersonal security\u201d was not involved.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m just going to tell my half of the story of what happened today with a mother and child who were involved with a security guard who is not my personal security,\u201d the \u201cPink Pony Club\u201d artist detailed in a video. \u201cI didn\u2019t even see, I didn\u2019t even see a woman and a child. Like, no one came up to me. No one bothered me. I was just sitting at breakfast in my hotel. I think these people were staying at the hotel as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe fact that a security guard who was\u2026 I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child. They did not come up to me. They weren\u2019t doing anything. It\u2019s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn\u2019t have good intentions when they have no reason to believe, because there\u2019s no action even taken. I do not hate people who are fans of my music<\/a>. I do not hate children. Like that is crazy,\u201d Roan continued. \u201cI\u2019m sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something that you would do something and that if you felt uncomfortable, that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn Frello\u2019s lengthy social media post, he said his daughter \u201cwas so happy to see an artist she really admires, or used to admire\u201d before the hotel incident.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBy coincidence, they\u2019re staying at the same hotel as this artist. During breakfast, the artist walked past their table. My daughter, like any child, recognised [sic] her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it really was her,\u201d he explained. \u201cAnd the worst part is she didn\u2019t even approach her. She simply walked past the singer\u2019s table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didn\u2019t say anything, didn\u2019t ask for anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShortly after, that\u2019s when the soccer star said \u201ca large security guard came over to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and daughter, saying that she shouldn\u2019t allow my daughter to \u2018disrespect\u2019 or \u2018harass\u2019 other people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFrello wrote that his \u201cdaughter was extremely shaken and cried a lot\u201d following the interaction. He added in his post, \u201cIt\u2019s sad to see this kind of treatment coming from those who should understand the importance of fans. At the end of the day, they are the ones who build all of this. I sincerely hope this serves as a moment of reflection. No one should have to go through this, especially not a child.\u201d<\/p>\n
