Man found dead in Surrey, IHIT takes over investigation<\/p>\n

One man is dead and a suspect is in custody after what police describe as an isolated incident in Surrey.<\/p>\n
Surrey Police Service (SPS) says that RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) officers responded to assist a situation that occurred yesterday (March 21) at approximately 11:15 a.m.<\/p>\n
SPOSU officers were called to help BCEHS and Surrey Fire Services with an unresponsive injured man in the 9800 block of Foxglove Drive, Surrey.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, officers found a man receiving treatments from BCEHS.<\/p>\n
Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
SPS says the suspect has been taken into custody but no charges have yet been approved by BC Prosecution Service.<\/p>\n
The investigation is still in its early stages however SPS believes this to be an isolated incident.<\/p>\n
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has now taken over the investigation and are working in partnership with RCMP SPOSU to complete priority investigative tasks.<\/p>\n
