Michael B. Jordan won the Oscar for best actor<\/a> following his impressive double lead performance as the twin characters, Smoke and Stack, in Sinners. The cast also performed the film\u2019s original song \u201cI Lied to you\u201d<\/a> and mimicked the colourful scene with dancers of Asian and African descent from the past, present and future.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Misty Copeland, a celebrated prima ballerina, took centre stage at the end of the performance, one of the evening\u2019s several jabs towards recently resurfaced comments from Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During a CNN & Variety Town Hall Event<\/a>, Chalamet claimed he \u201cdidn\u2019t want to be working in ballet, or opera, or things where it\u2019s like keep this thing alive even though no one cares about it anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

For some more local controversy, we have been following the Calgary Library\u2019s decision to open applications for an AI art residency. Our Treaty 7 reporter, Janine De Castro<\/a>, has more on that story here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Mount Royal University Cougars men\u2019s hockey team was back on the national stage this past week. <\/p>\n

After an impressive playoff run, including a win over the Calgary Dinos, MRU has secured just its second berth in program history at the U SPORTS University Cup in Halifax. But the Cougars fell short<\/a> in the tournament. <\/p>\n

With the FIFA World Cup approaching this coming summer, national teams around the world are ramping up preparations, and Canada\u2019s men\u2019s national soccer team continues its preparations, building momentum through international matches as they aim to make an impact on the global stage. <\/p>\n
