It\u2019s been nearly four years since Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert wowed people away with\u00a0Everything Everywhere All at Once<\/a>. Since then, the duo\u2019s directed an episode of\u00a0Star Wars: Skeleton Crew<\/a>\u00a0and not done much else, give or take a producing gig.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, it sounds like that\u2019s about to change, albeit in the near (but still-too-far) future. During a recent Collider<\/a> interview, Kwan revealed the duo\u2019s next, currently untitled movie will release in November 2027. Production\u2019s going to start up this summer. Cryptically, he said the film will see him and Scheinert \u201ctry doing what we\u2019ve always done: listen very deeply to what is happening in the world and try to internalize that and make something really fun and entertaining. [\u2026] It\u2019s going to be fun sci-fi, action comedy with a big heart. Very existential.\u201d<\/p>\n

In another life, this movie would be coming out this summer on June 12, which is currently occupied by\u00a0Disclosure Day<\/a>. Instead, the Daniels delayed it<\/a> to avoid Steven Spielberg\u2019s orbit, and they\u2019ve used that extra time to take in everything happening in the world so they can \u201creconcile all those [complex and really nuanced] things and put them into one movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

And when that movie does hit, Kwan teased it\u2019ll be one for the big screen. For the IMAX heads out there, he said the plan is to shoot much of it for the format so they can \u201cbring people together and give them a big event. It\u2019s a big action movie, which we\u2019re really excited about.\u201d All we have to do is spend the next year and eight months waiting for news about the film\u2019s production and it\u2019s official title. That won\u2019t be hard, right?<\/p>\n
