Cotie McMahon’s college career ended on the bench. She fouled out on a questionable charge call and couldn’t do anything as Ole Miss lost to Minnesota at the buzzer in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32.<\/p>\n

It doesn’t change how special McMahon’s time in college was, though, and it doesn’t change her chance of making an impact in the WNBA.<\/p>\n

That is the next step for McMahon. This was her last college game.<\/p>\n

Three years at Ohio State were followed by this last season at Ole Miss, and now she’ll head to the professional ranks.<\/p>\n

This season, McMahon averaged nearly 20 points per game, a career best after about 15 points per game in three seasons with the Buckeyes.<\/p>\n

She left her mark with the Rebels.<\/p>\n

“Just thanks for taking a chance on me.,” Ole Miss coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin said after Sunday’s loss, via the NCAA official transcript<\/a>. “Cotie could have gone — Cotie had so many schools that wanted her.”<\/p>\n

Ole Miss had a strong season with McMahon leading the way, even if they couldn’t quite secure a first-weekend hosting spot that would’ve been a game changer.<\/p>\n

They’ll have to deal with the bummer of seeing it end so soon, but now McMahon will move on to what’s next.<\/p>\n

Most likely, she’ll get a shot in the WNBA. It’ll be up to her to make the most of it after an impressive college journey.<\/p>\n
