Some don&#8217;t enjoy the same level of immediate inter-provincial name recognition, but are iconic nonetheless.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pizzaspano.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pizza Spano<\/a>, which, contrary to what its name might suggest, boasts an equal amount of Greek dishes and diner staples as it does pizza, is one such establishment. A Dollard-Des Ormeaux fixture for more than four decades, the family-run restaurant is the site of countless nostalgic memories for its fans.<\/p>\n<p>You don&#8217;t need to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogto.com\/travel\/2026\/02\/via-rail-business-class-toronto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">book a train ticket\u00a0<\/a>to see what the hype is all about, though, because, as of Monday, March 16, Spano has officially made landfall in Toronto with a location in the Castlefield Design District.<\/p>\n<p>The Toronto iteration is called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/spanosdiner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Spano&#8217;s Diner<\/a>, and it truly lives up to the name with glossy white subway tiles, red accents and a checkerboard-emblazoned menu, to say nothing of the friendly, family-first vibe that oozes out of every corner.<\/p>\n<p>Though the business adopted a new name upon crossing provincial lines, its offerings remain largely unchanged.
